The second park design workshop took place on April 18th, at the future development site in AV Community Park. About 30 community members participated, and nine AV students helped lead workshop activities. Five Service Learning Team students voyaged to the KZYX public radio station in Philo on Thursday, April 16th for a live interview on Wildoak Living, hosted by Johanna Wildoak. A huge thanks to Rege Construction, local landscape expert Pam Callaghan and architect Alex Korn for helping to ensure all of the new soil at our construction site is prepared for winter! Pam Callaghan coordinated erosion control measures for the site, and we are very fortunate that Rege Construction (contract for the neighboring track project, with whom we coordinated excess soil delivery) chose to hydro-seed all of the new soil at no charge!

Full steam ahead on restroom construction! This is a huge step forward for the AV Skatepark Project; the restroom is an essential part of our development plan and a top priority for the community. Thanks to recent grants from the California General Fund Specified Grant Program, The California Endowment and the George and Ruth Bradford Foundation, as well as gifts from some very generous community members, we have cash in hand to proceed with this phase of the project.
