The California Endowment has granted $25,000 to the AV Skatepark Project!

The Endowment prioritizes projects that promote community health and wellness, and our aim to develop a community recreation space aligns with that mission. The youth leadership component of this project also was a major factor in the Endowment's decision to prioritize this project. AV junior high and high school students working on the AV Skatepark Project via the school's Service Learning Team (an after-school leadership group) have the opportunity to learn a wide range of real-world skills through hands-on interaction with the project. Perhaps most importantly, they learn that the power of their individual contribution, and their own potential to enact change in the community.

We are so grateful to The California Endowment for recognizing the importance of this project, and for choosing to support undeserved, rural communities like ours.
