Thank you to the AV Unity Club for inviting Service Learning Team junior high and high school students to present about the AV Skatepark Project at their latest monthly meeting! Eight students (including seven who just joined the group this year!) jointly presented basic information about the importance of this project and its current status. This was several students' first time publicly presenting, and Unity Club members' warm and supportive reception helped to soothe their nerves!

14 students ran various AV Skatepark Project activities at the annual AV Health Center Harvest Festival in October, including a whole new venture: inviting community members to brainstorm additional elements for future park development. We remain focused on the skatepark, restroom and community pavilion as first priorities; however, the pavilion has yet to be designed and adding other elements could enhance our application for an upcoming State Parks grant program.
